Half the Sugar Baker
If you ever get that sudden urge to bake something and satisfy your dessert craving, these blondies are for you. This is probably the fastest and easiest recipe I have ever made and it tastes so good. As Adam Ragusea might say, it has a great flavor to labor ratio. It’s made with whole wheat and almond flour for a healthier upgrade. It also uses less butter but you still get that traditional soft and chewy texture.
This blondie batter took me maybe 15 minutes to whip up and it was so easy. First, you mix the wet ingredients which uses melted butter so you don’t have to wait for butter to soften. Then you whisk together the dry ingredients. Then mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and you’re done! Oh, and don’t forget the add ins! I love doing a traditional chocolate chip and walnut but I have also tried blueberry (which is my mom’s favorite).
Ingredients:
I wanted to make these blondies a little healthier so I used almond flour and whole wheat flour along with less butter than traditional recipes. These blondies are a little more crumbly than you average ones because of the almond flour but don’t worry, they will still stay together perfectly well. In order to replace some of the moisture from the reduced butter, this recipe includes some applesauce.
For add ins, I did chocolate chips and walnuts along with a batch of blueberry blondies and they are both soo tasty. These are so easy to customize to your favorite flavors which is one reason I love them. You could try some orange zest and white chocolate, or go crazy with m&m’s and chopped reece’s cups. Let me know what combo’s you have tried, I would love to hear them!
